Day 6:   7 August 1999 - Chekamus Lake Trail
This day was a very long day.  Of course we got a late start.  Tim and I woke up early as usual but after drinking the morning brew and eating more stuff every one else finally got themselves.

The ride started with a leisurely ride down from the townhouse along the path (Along yesterday's fairways) south.  I recognized a lot of the fairways that I just golfed on yesterday.  We followed the path along Nita Lake then to Alta Lake.  There, we picked up Miller Creek Trail.   This was  a nice short section of single and double track with a few small water bar crossings.  In on time we were in Function Junction.

We crossed the highway and picked up Eastside Main - a short mile paved section that turned into a somewhat long gravel climb.  Some of the views were gorgeous!  During this part of the ride it started to rain.  Some times the rain got quite heavy.  Oh well....We finally made it to the trail head and saw some rangers and many hikers.

This trail turned out to be a really fun twisty rolly single track through old pine forests etc.   In no time we made it out to the gorgeous lake.  The single track continued and got progressively more technical.  Eventually we turned around and headed back.  The long ride back was fun through the single track.  Unfortunately we had to make the trek back to our town house.  Made for a long day but well, the riding was good.
