Whistler

Day 2:   10 August 1999 - "A River Runs Through It', "Barts Dark Trail"
Our first full day in Whistler.  I was excited to see this place that I had travelled all the way from Hawaii to see.  It's skiing is legendary.  I've heard a lot of people talk about mountain biking in BC.

All of our bikes made it here okay.  My bike was already together but everyone else eagerly put their rides together.  We had five Psycle Werks, one Ventanna Marble Peak, one Manitou FS, one Litespeed OBED and two GT LTS's.  All told close to maybe 25,000 dollars worth of bikes.  We were here to ride!

So we jump down from the townhouse to the villiage and meander around the lakes etc. to try and get our bearings and find trails .  We found some pieces of single track here and there around the bike paths.  There are a lot of bike paths AND little piece of single track to be found.

We managed to find a piece of Bart's Dark Trail and A River Runs Through It.  It was difficult riding for some because they are not use to the roots and rocks in and amongst the trees.  This looked a lot like the stuff we have here in Hawaii.  Lots of slippery mossy rocks and roots!   It was a long day but a lot of fun.

Here's Claudia crossing one of the many bridges to be found.  God they have great trails out here.
Here I come.  I think this was on A River Runs Through It.
