CFHQSIR Elixir-IR Validation Statistics

Last update: Mon May 27 17:58:59 HST 2013

Global statistics since the start of the survey in August 2010:

CFHTLS Wide Patch: W1 W2 W3 W4
Total integration [validated exp.]: 63.3 hr 22.5 hr 32.8 hr 21.9 hr
Current completion of the patch : 103.5 % 105.7 % 78.7 % 103.0 %
Number of validated exposures: 2682 951 1389 927
Number of exposures needed : 2592 900 1764 900
Current fraction of CFHQSIR : 45.1 % 16.0 % 23.3 % 15.6 %
Target fraction of CFHQSIR : 42.0 % 15.0 % 28.0 % 15.0 %

  • Total validated integration: includes the 10 seconds overhead per exposure per QSO time accounting rules
  • Current completion of the patch: fraction from the number of validated exposures to the nominal number of exposures needed to cover the whole patch. If there are more than 4 validated exposures for certain WIRCam pointings, the final tally can go over 100%, refer to the maps color schemes to find out the actual coverage of all pointings with at least the 4 nominal exposures.
  • Number of validated exposures: number of images accounted for in the Elixir based validation
  • Number of exposures needed: nominal number of exposures needed to cover the whole patch
  • Current fraction of CFHQSIR: relative fraction of the various patches to illustrates the fields balancing
  • Target fraction of CFHQSIR: nominal relative fraction of the various patches for the complete survey

The following table presents glocal statistics per CFHTLS Wide field:

CFHTLS Done (%) Itime(hr) = itime(sec) x Nexp Med Avg Min Max Dsp A. Bkg. Ph.
55.9 = 75 x 26820.62 0.63 0.40 0.96 0.081.2435.0096
19.8 = 75 x 9510.61 0.62 0.42 0.94 0.101.2233.0094
28.9 = 75 x 13890.66 0.66 0.49 0.92 0.071.3039.0093
19.3 = 75 x 9270.62 0.62 0.40 0.87 0.091.1132.0092
  • 'Done' is the internal completion rate of the given CFHTLS Wide field
  • 'Itime' is the pure integration time not including the 10 seconds overhead
  • Image quality statistics: Median, Average, Minimum, Maximum, Dispersion
  • 'A.' is the average airmass for all exposures
  • 'Bkg.' is the average sky background in ADUs per second for all exposures
  • 'Ph.' is the fraction (percentage) of exposures taken under photometric conditions
