Day 8:  9  August 1999 - Binty's High Trail to Rick's  Roost to Billy Epic to Rob's Rebob'
As usual we left our house late in the morning and headed down to Whistler Villiage and on to the bike paths.  We headed out around the lake to Alpine Meadows subdivision beside the park.  We climbed through some residential housing (a little steep).  The road turned in to a fire road as we kept on climbing and climbing.  After an hour or so of climbing we turned left to pick up Rick's Roost.  This was a slow long climb up switch back over looking Whislter Valley and Green Lake.

Finally made it to Binty's.  This is a classic BC/Whistler ride that climbs high above the Whistler valley and then begins a long, technical single-track descent of almost 2000 vertical feet.   This single track included all kinds of fun from log crossings to mud bog (hike a bike sections) to loose steep butt over the tire descents.

Some where along the trail we made our way to Rick's Roost.

From there we made our way down to Billy Epic.  This was more way our downhill with lots of rocks, roots and drop offs.  Finally we finished off with Bob's Rebob - a fast smooth twisty down hill through the "Brair Witch Project" looking forest.  Sure looked like a scene out of Empire Strikes Back when we were flying through these forests.

Finaly made the ride home.  Boy the shower felt especially good that evening.  I don't remember what dinner was that night.  Cleaned and serviced the bike for the next day's riding.

Here I am.....Blackcomb and Whistler Mountains left and right.
