Abstract: FlyEyes is a demonstration project to evaluate the performance of the CCID-35 detector as a suitable replacement for APDs in curvature-based wavefront sensing. The goal of which is to provide guidance for evaluating an upgrade of PUEO from a 19-order system to one much higher. The CCID-35 was developed specifically for curvature-based sensing by MIT Lincoln Labs and ESO. After several unsuccessful engineering runs, which were plagued by bad weather, preliminary on-sky tests with FlyEyes were finally completed at the end of April. Initial analysis look promising but further work needs to be done in the next few months to assess and optimize performance.
