Observing Statistics for Semester 1997II

The second semester of 1997 (August - January) covers a total of 184 nights. The telescope is scheduled for a total of 166 scientific nights including 10 discretionary nights and 4 nights of community OASIS commissioning time. There are 18 engineering nights scheduled.

This semester we received more applications for Bright time than for Dark due mainly due to the availability of the Adaptive Optics system. The breakdown of requests by instrument and focus is shown below.

Observing schedule notes (next page):

  1. Night shared between Engineering, Discretionary and Service Observing for C34.
  2. 2.5 nights for F16 and 1.5 nights for F02.
  3. First 1/4 nights for H14, middle 1/2 nights for H03 and last 1/4 nights for H10.
  4. First 1/4 night for H14, middle 1/2 night for H01 and last 1/4 night for H10.
  5. First 1/2 nights for H04, last 1/2 nights for H01.
  6. May be moved to Semester 98I.
