Mauna Kea, an awe inspiring dormant Hawaiian volcano culminating at 14,000 feet, boasts one of the best vantage points on Earth for astronomy. Today, it is home to the largest collection of telescopes in the World. Seven years in the making, the film "Hawaiian Starlight" (2008, 43 mn) reveals the magic of the place and its connection to the Cosmos through striking time-lapse cinematography scored with beautiful music composed by Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori. Daytime and nighttime skyscapes and landscapes are mixed with sequences of stunning true-color images of the Universe captured by the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope atop Mauna Kea.
