2008 Calendar description

This year, CFHT has once again teamed up with Coelum to deliver a calendar of stunning astronomical images. These twelve gorgeous, true-color images obtained by the MegaCam wide-field CCD imaging camera not only decorate walls with vibrant and living colors, they also illustrate brillantly the rich and complex structures populating our Universe.

The twelve objects found in this year's calendar are: Globular Cluster NGC 6144, Stephan's Quintet, Star formation region NGC 2170, Supernova remnant in Taurus, Spiral galaxy Messier 106, Reflection nebula NGC 1999, Star cluster Messier 25, Nebulae in Sagittrarius, War and Peace Nebula, Spiral galaxy IC 342, Snake Nebula, and the Propeller Nebula.

  • Available for sale at our headquarters in Waimea (i.e. Kamuela) from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday. Our headquarters are located on the right of the upper road (Mamalahoa Hwy.) when driving out of Waimea towards Kona, about a quarter of a mile after the Chevron station.
